Reading Test for Driver License
We will be administering the reading test on March 14 during Parent-Teacher Conferences. This is for any student who wants to obtain his/her driver license and has not passed the reading test as an 8th grader. Sign up with Mrs. Costner if you need to take this test. If you did not pass the test as an 8th grader, you must take this test in order to get your permit/license. This is an alternate test. There is no fee to take the test if you are a student at Allen Public Schools.
April 1st – May 2nd
The State Department of Education has set up a parent portal that you can log into and see your student’s test scores. You will need your Student’s Testing Number (STN) and their date of birth. The STN is located on the test scores that were sent home with your student last fall. If you do not have that number, you may get that number from the office. The web address is below:

Students will participate in mandatory state testing beginning April 1st
When I have a more specific schedule, I will post it on this webpage. Students will take the following tests in each grade. Not all students will begin on April 1st and not all students will follow same schedule—depends on the student. All paper-format tests (Grade 3 and a few others) must be given by April 18th. All online testing with the exception of ACT must be given by May 2nd. Once we set a more detailed schedule, please make sure your student is at school—there are strict rules we must adhere to make up tests.
3rd--Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
4th--Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
5th--Math, English Language Arts (ELA), Science
6th--Math and English Language Arts (ELA)

Students in grade 11 (or anyone in grade 12 who has not taken these tests) are required to take the following tests in order to graduate:
ACT Test with Writing (given at our school—online)
We only have a 6-day window to administer the ACT—April 2-4 and April 9-11.
CCRA Grade 11 Science Test and U.S. History Test
Please help your student by making sure they eat and are well-rested. Below is a tentative schedule that we will try to adhere. (I will add to the schedule as it is completed.) The schedule is not specific due to confidentiality--there will be other testing taking place in addition to the ones listed.
